Red lipstick, do or don't?

I happen too absolutely love red lipstick! But only on certain people, I can't stand when someone who wears red lipstick & it ends up looking terrible. Red lipstick looks best on a pale complexion if you ask me, & on a flawless powdered up face. I have a pale skin tone but I don't wear any other makeup on my face with it & I end up looking like a little kid who slipped into her mother's dresser when I wear it! :[.
Disappointing, I think so, any tips on something I can do to pull this off more or more feelings on red lipstick? Let me know! :]

    I think it looks lovely on you. Here's what I've read - if your skin has more pink-ish undertones, try a red with more of a blue base. If your skin is more golden, try a red with gold or orange bases or undertones.

    Honestly, I think any skin tone can wear red lipstick. It just depends on the shade of red. I am pale and wear Revlon's Fire and Ice. It is the PERFECT red in my opinion. My best friend Megan looks hideous in it though. She wears a red just a few shades darker, and looks stunning. It's all about finding your personal best.

    well i think it looks great! i had a horrible time finding my shade. I went into MAC and they told me all about my skin tone and what works with it.
    Im always so nervous when i wear lipstick, that it is all over my face or on my teeth or anything
